5-10-12 On this week's Listen Now webcast we mistakenly credited "The Rain Don't Fall On Me" to Eden & John when it is really the Blind Willie Johnson masterpiece from the CD, "The Complete Blind Willie Johnson; Columbia/Legacy C2K 52835". Pledge drive is upon us, and it's time to become a subscriber to listener-OWNED KBOO radio. Listed in order of importance and contribution: KBOO, KMHD, and to a smaller degree, KOPB, are about the only sources for traditional "roots" music in the Portland region broadcast market. KBOO, especially, has been the major provider for bubbaguitar's favorite music. Their sometimes childishly anarchistic politics, where lefties get to play army, cops & robbers, and cowboys & Indians, might make you roll your eyes, but all is out-weighed by KBOO's solid, decades-long, contribution to the region's politics and culture. Portland would be a far lesser place if KBOO had not been our companion through the years. |
